Today I’m on the A train headed WAY uptown to meet our “Mentor Group ” at The Cloisters, in upper, upper Manhattan.

I very rarely go above 125th street (even though I did this past Sunday) so 190th street seems like another country!
On that topic, I need to stop telling people that I live “near NYU.” People are so,attuned to real estate issues here in New York that even the mention of the West Village as a place of residence makes people do a strange double-take. Okay, so I’ll stop, even though I’m always trying to be truthful. Then I don’t have to lie. Still, the truth isn’t what people always want to hear.

Today’s entry, as may the rest of them this week, will be mostly pictures, as all of this “field trip” activity doesn’t allow me much time to think or write. Once again, everything in some grad school is AGAINST making work.

Later on in the day we went to the “Oculus” building near the World Trade Center. It had a cathedral-like look that was similar to the old style from the Middle Ages. I guess that was the point of going there.
